What we can learn from Borat

I’m not sure ifKazakhstann will come out of Borat’s movie looking rosey, but they are making the best of bad (though very funny…just not for them) situation.
Take a look at last week’s Unsolicited Advice column on Forbes.com for a great, high profile example of how to make the best of a bad situation. While Borat’s movie probably could not be more unwelcome in Kazakhstan, the government there is making the best of a funny-at-their-expense situation.
To quote the column: “The Kazakh diplomat’s take is as levelheaded as that from any American PR executive with a black belt: “Borat is frustrating, but people are smart enough to understand that it’s a fictional movie about a fictional character. He represents ‘Boratistan,’ not Kazakhstan–but he helps us get our story out.”
